Our Devon Nursing Home, Heanton, and Westward Housing came together this week and partnered on an afternoon tea event held in the gardens of the nursing home in Barnstaple.
About 20 of the sheltered housing residents came together with some of the individuals living at Heanton Nursing Home, to enjoy sandwiches, cakes and tea, as well live music throughout the afternoon.
Heanton’s Home Manager Paula Mascall commented: “It was brilliant to host lots of the Westward Housing residents, and it was a great chance for everyone to make some new friends and all enjoy a fun day out. It’s so important for different communities to come together and work with each other, to not only provide variety and fun, but also support and opportunities for everybody who needs them, whatever part of their journey they are on.”
Cheryl Bradley, one of the Housing Workers from Westward Housing, told us: “It was a lovely day, enjoyed by all and it was great of Heanton to host it for us. It was so popular with our residents that we had to do two minibus trips! It’s really useful to have a great relationship with a provider such as Heanton so that both our residents and those who live at Heanton all have access to the different kinds of support we can provide.”
