Heanton Nursing Home and Edenmore Nursing Home, specialist dementia nursing and residential care providers in North Devon, have been commended by local MP Peter Heaton-Jones for creating their own solution to the care funding crisis.

The group that supports the home, Evolve Care Group, have set up a subsidy fund of £100,000 in order to help local people afford the care they need and deserve.

Home Manager at Heanton, Paula Mascall said: “We are very grateful for Peter coming to visit our home. We want to provide love and care to those that need it, not just the very wealthy. Our subsidy fund will allow those currently stuck at home or in hospital to access our specialist services at a cost that they can afford.”

North Devon newly re-elected MP, Peter Heaton-Jones, recently visited Heanton Nursing Home to see firsthand some of work that goes on in these two nursing homes. He commented: “the current crisis in funding for social care is an issue that urgently needs addressing and it is brilliant to see that Heanton and Edenmore Nursing Homes are both doing their own bit to help ease the costs of care. It was brilliant to meet some of the people living at Heanton, view some of the newly refurbished rooms and get a real sense of the specialised care that is provided there.”
